Your journey begins with a medical consultation to evaluate your condition. The doctor reviews your medical history and determines whether the Smart Capsule is the right option for you. You also have an InBody assessment, which measures your weight, body fat, muscle mass and body water, so your starting point is clear from day one. The doctor then explains the procedure to you and goes through the personalised nutrition plan that will accompany it, so you know exactly what to expect and how the two work together.

The Smart Capsule is swallowed in the clinic under the supervision of Dr. Khaled El Amir. There is no surgery, no endoscopy and no anaesthesia — you simply swallow the capsule, and the whole procedure takes only a few minutes. An X-ray is then performed to confirm that the capsule is in the correct position before it is filled. That is the entire visit: a short, straightforward step in the clinic, carried out under the doctor's supervision from beginning to end.

You start your personalised nutrition plan, and follow up with the medical team every week. Regular InBody assessments track your progress along the way, so you and the team can see exactly how your weight, fat and muscle are changing. The capsule remains in the stomach for approximately four months, then naturally passes through the digestive system without the need for removal. With commitment to the nutrition plan, patients may lose 10–15 kg.
